Privacy Policy

Effective September 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Group Portal collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information. It also describes rights available to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”).

1. Personal information we collect

We may collect identifiers and contact information such as name, email, phone number, mailing or business address, account ID, username, and IP address; profile and professional information such as employer, title, biography, interests, skills, photographs, and social links; account and subscription details; communications, posts, event activity, referrals, support requests, preferences, and usage history; and device, browser, log, cookie, approximate location, and analytics information.

Stripe processes payment card information. We receive transaction details, customer and subscription identifiers, billing status, and payment tokens, but we do not receive or store full payment card numbers. Information you choose to publish in a directory, group, event, or community area may be visible to other members according to your settings.

2. Sources of information

We collect information directly from you, automatically from your device and use of the Service, from other members when they interact with you, and from service providers and integrations such as Stripe, analytics providers, authentication services, and connected business tools.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide and secure accounts; process purchases and recurring billing; operate directories, events, groups, messaging, support, and member features; personalize the Service; communicate about transactions and updates; prevent fraud and abuse; troubleshoot and analyze performance; enforce agreements; comply with law; and improve our products and services.

4. Disclosure to third parties

We may disclose relevant information to vendors that perform services for us, including Stripe for payment processing, cloud hosting and storage providers, authentication and security providers, email delivery services, analytics providers, customer support tools, and integrations you authorize. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, authorities when legally required, parties to a corporate transaction, or others with your direction or consent.

We require service providers to use information for contracted purposes. We do not sell personal information for money and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by California law.

5. Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain transaction and legal records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet security or compliance obligations. Retention varies by data type and purpose. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure.

6. California privacy rights

Subject to legal exceptions, California residents may request: (a) access to and disclosure of categories and specific pieces of personal information; (b) correction of inaccurate information; (c) deletion of personal information; (d) information about sources, purposes, and categories of recipients; and (e) a portable copy of eligible information. Residents may also opt out of sale or sharing and limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable. We do not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

Submit a request through the Support Center in the Service and identify it as a “California Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity using information associated with your account before fulfilling a request. An authorized agent may submit a request with proof of authority, and we may still verify your identity directly. We will respond within the time required by law and explain any applicable exception.

7. Cookies and analytics

We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, measure performance, detect fraud, and understand use of the Service. Browser controls may limit some technologies, but doing so can affect functionality.

8. Children

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy to reflect legal, operational, or service changes. The effective date above shows the latest revision. Privacy questions and rights requests may be submitted through the Support Center available in the Service.
